Hi all!

My Jag just did some strange stuff! While driving down the road the ignition just "went away" doors unlocked, engine off. Then BINGO all back to normal, doors lock, engine running all systems GO!

It did this a few times over the week end and now this morning it left me on the side of the road. I turn the key, all lights light up, doors lock. When I turn to the "START" position.........all gone, NOTHING!

Bad ignition switch, or possible bad relay? HELLLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!

I am having a similar problem....starts fine, then when I get to my destination and turn it off, it won't start up again.

Details: Several months ago this started happening. I looked at several things that could be the problem, but would like any input possible from knowledgable people here before taking it in for a $several hundred visit to the local dealership.

First, the remote lock/unlock doesn't work. So I manually lock it whenever I stop the car. In the beginning when this happened, and had done so several times, I thought it was a battery problem, so I went to a local tire and battery place and had a new battery put in. As soon as it was put in, it wouldn't start. The mechanics and the manager, and I, worked with it for about 30 min. and they all concluded that it was a security override problem...somewhere in the ignition system it was not acknowledging the key or something, and therefore wouldn't start.

On other occasions it will restart after a period of time, varying from 45 min. to last Saturday at 5 hours. So, if there is a timing device in there related to security, then after it "times out" I am presuming it will restart.

Last weekend was the final straw when I had to have it towed back to my house.

Anyone here have any suggestions?

Thanks much.
