I've also understood that tubes cause internal friction and are discouraged in modern tires, especially radials. I guess I'm having a little trouble believing that Dayton can't seal a wire wheel with today's technologies? I used tubes and flaps on my original 1936 Packard wires but they were never intended to be tubed. I'd love to hear from people who've had failures of recently made Dayton wire wheels and what the methodology of failure was?
