I live in Norway, and am currently rebuilding a late 1954 XK120 SE that left Coventry for Max Hoffman in New York on August 24th 1954. Chassis no. is S 676385.
I have no idea who Hoffman sold it to, but when it was brought back from the US to the UK a few years ago, it came from California. Originally the car was OEW with suede green interior, but showed signs (through the rust) of having been rather crudely painted barn red at some stage. Discoveries on the otherwise derilict body seem to suggest that it had been used for racing at some stage as well, - probably towards the end of its career.
I would be very interested, and extremely grateful, if any member has any clue as to the life of this car. All info will be greatly appreciated!
