Guys,
My car is a 1968 OTS; before I had the alternator rebuilt the battery would not charge, the ignition light stayed on, and the old ignition controller got very hot causing the vinyl terminal covers to melt. I had the original alternator rebuilt with heavier duty diodes and installed a new relay and new ignition light controller.
The new controller runs cool now but my ignition light sometimes comes on while driving, although the battery gauge registers in the "charge" range.
What might be causing this?
John
