Hello,
This is my first post here, and unfortunately it is because I am having trouble with my XJR. The car is stranded in Hanover, NH and will no longer go into gear. The J-gate has detached from the shifter mechanism below the shifter surround and moves freely without any effect on the slides below. I removed the surround, and can not move the nylon shift mechanism at all to get it in P or N for towing. It seems to be stuck in R.
Does anyone have any tricks I could use? I need to either have it towed, or get it into D so I can limp it to the dealer. However, the closest dealer is 109 miles away.
Does anyone know a Jaguar shop near Hanover, NH that can take a look at my sick cat?
