1991 XJ-6 - need to replace headliner on 91 XJ6 - part is drooping. Is this an easy job? How do I do it ? Remove trim and drop liner, or it is complicated like removing windows? Also where is a good site to buy headliner and approximately what should it cost?

Thanks!!!! Bill

For the most part, I'm a do-it-yourselfer however with a headliner, I highly recommend that you go to an auto upholsterer. You shouldn't have to pay more than $200.00 to have them do it. If you are concerned with original material (for concours purposes, etc.) then you probably should purchase a roll of original Jaguar material yourself from one of the major suppliers. I believe I paid between $125.00 & $150.00 for the roll of material. You do not have to remove the windows. You don't just buy a precut headliner and install it, you have to glue the material to the headliner shell and trim it to fit, etc. The professionals know which adhesives to use and many times the best adhesives cannot be purchased by the general public. The job does require removing quite a bit of interior trim and again, I would strongly suggest that you leave this job to someone with experience.
