Ralph, Take out the freeze plugs and flush the block. Inspect the head studs by looking through the freeze plug holes. If hour-glass shaped, replace the studs. They will snap off when re-torquing the head. If your local machine shop is not accustomed to Jaguar head work, I would ship it to Coventry West. Valves will have to be shimmed & cams set, after head is machined. Ask if the person doing the work is a Jaguar specialist.
