Richard............thanks for the tip. Pulled the electrical cable to the headlights as you suggested. Although the contacts appeared perfectly clean, I cleaned them anyway with contact cleaner. No more problem. Lights work perfectly now. Go figure. Thanks! Don in Nashville.
