looking to replace or rebuild the relay. Are the parts available from radio shack and if so what are the parts nos to purchase. Is there a way to test which part has failed and needs to be replaced

Check the colors of the stripes on the resister. Make sure you match them with the replacement. Replace it exactly as before and you will have it. Caution, don't reverse it . :)

Not a relay, actually, tho it looks like one.

Yes, easily rebuildable if you have a soldering iron. It's just three diodes and a resistor. Radio Shack should be able to fix you up.

I don't know the value of the esistor, tho. Perhaps someone else will chime in. 'Tis the dioes that usually give up the ghost anyway.
