well this more than I expected, thanks. My problem is this. I had this service station garage work on my car because the car died at the pump. Since this garage installed a new fuel pump, my car will only register 3/4 full on the fuel gauge. My first thing that came to mind was that the float arm was bent down some where between extraction to re-installation. I never expected to see a float arm this big/long. On another post it suggested that I disconnect the battery, more than once if necessary. It didn't help. I did not try it leaving the switch on however. I don't relish the thought of having to remove fuel pump assymbly again. Thanks again. I appreciate your help.
