I suspect that my 1982 XJS HE V12 is leaking fuel to the intake at b-bank through the fuel pressure regulator vacume hose. I remember that this regulator on the b-bank is the one doing the actual regulation of the fuel, so I am not sure if it would be OK to disconnect the vacume hose here? It seems to run fine with the hose disconnected. But mostly I would like to know which whole I should pluged when pulling the vacume hose, the whole at the pressure regulator or the whole at the intake? Right now I've pluged the whole at the regulator and leave the whole at the intake free, because I don't want the fuel from the regulator to leak out. Please help. Thank you.

If the regulator is leaking, remove the vacuum hose and see if you smell gas. If you don't smell gas, it;s not leaking.

If it is leaking, and you disconnect it, the fuel pressure may force fuel through the diaphragm and out if it isn't pluged.
