Front brakes- Dunlops where Girlings should be...

I was talking with a friend regarding his front brakes. It appears he has Dunlops on the front of his 69 S2. That ain't right, I quipped. He wants to rebuild them but the dunlops require a resleeve which is QUITE expensive. Is there anyway to put the Girlings back on withour having to swap the carriers?
