Hello, this is Regi and I have a question about my 1994 VDP XJ40. The other day my bulb failure light came on and upon inspecting my car, I noticed a wire hanging from my front drivers side wheel. At the end of the wire as a round device that looks as if it may have held a bulb or something. I know my drivers side fog lamp is out. So is this device connected to the fog lamp or is indeed the fog lamp? I don't know. I am not very mechanically minded, but I am sure learning! I want to fix it myself. Any help is appreciated. Encluded is a pic of the fixture.

it does look like a Quartz bulb holder. the notch in the black plastic housing engage the light assembly, you turn it clockwise to secure it in place or to remove it. get replacement quartz bulbs at autopart stores. I always replace them in pairs, the other one must be on its way to heaven. Do not touch the glass when handling the new bulbs. To remove the old bulb, pry gently on the potruding silver clip showing on the back center of housing until it releases the bulb with wire(s), then pull it out. Normally they go in one way only. I think you can get the new white-light types in quartz too.
