You can try the dollar bill trick to locate where the offending gaps are. Just close the door on the bill and see if you can pull it out. The bill will slip out of areas that have gaps. That gives you a starting point on where you need to tighten things up. We routinely did this on the series 3 XJs back in the 1980s.
