E Type Series 2 emissions/secondary throttle plate

Robert I am not too familiar with the differences between the 68's and 71's but my 68 has a crossover pipe at the back of the engine that looks similar to the crossover pipe I have seen on the later Series 2's at the middle of the engine. When I removed the secondary butterflies on my 68 I left the crossover pipe and everything else in place and still experienced much improved throttle response.
