My 1967 E Type needs new wire wheels. I know there are several brands available. Without being stupid I want to buy the best available since I plan on having this car fo a long time and only want to do this once. Any ideas on what to buy?

I agree with Steve that Dayton is the place for your wire wheels. I suggest you specify stainless steel spokes and nipples. They look every bit as good as chrome and will last longer. Also, these wheels require periodical cleaning as well as renewing the grease on the splined hub.

There are several good brands out there. I've personally purchased Dayton wire wheels for my '70 FHC and I love them. I got the tubeless kind, so no more dealing with inner tubes, a big plus. The wheels are well made and clean up to look beautiful. I'm very happy with them, and plan on buying another set for my '69 OTS that I'm currently restoring. I bought mine through SNG Barratt, but many of the "usual suspects" carry them.
