I have an 2001 XK8 convertible that has what appears to be a loose window mount. When the front door is opened the window should auotmattically comes down aproximately 1/4 inch so when you close it it makes correct contact with the top gasket. The window on the driver side of my Jag comes down aproximattely 3/4 inch on the back side which causes it to put pressure on the back side window. The passenger side works OK.
If I manually pull the back of the window up before I close it I feel play and then it closes OK and does not hit the back window. I am assumeing that the window mount that holds the window is loose causing it to skew. I need to take the driver side door panel off to fix this. Any one have any experience on taking off the door panel and fixing the loose window. Any special tools needed?
