I own a 1967 Mark 2 with the 3.4 engine. I am in the process of installing a Pertronix distributor and coil, before ordering I looked at the installed ditributor to see if it had a vacuum advance and it did. So I ordered the standard distributor. Upn removing the old distributor I discovered that the vacuum advance tube was about 8 inches long and plugged at the end! I figure I have 3 choices. 1. Install the part with the plugged advance tube. 2. Look for vacuum off the carbs. (It has twin down draft Webers). There is a small brass fitting on the bottom of the carb with a rubber cap on it. Exchange the standard distributor for a high performance one with the mechanical advance. Any thoughts?
