What will I need to know/do to install disc brakes on the MKI I just bought? Will disc brakes off of a MKII bolt right on?

Waste of time and money. A full and correct rebuild of the drum brakes along with good linings and good shoes is all you will ever need.

Steve I have not done that before. You should get a 2.4/3.4 Saloon parts manual (no such thing as a MK1) and do a parts number comparison. Better question is why do you want to convert? Properly set drum brakes are as effective as disc (except racing and heavy rain) which you are not likely to see. Jaguar did offer a conversion kit in the 50s and if I get the time I will look up the supply bulletin which listed the parts. George Camp
