Does anyone know the correct color code dupont colors for the 64s? I am looking at the silver grey metalic and the silver gray.
Thank you,

I am looking for Opalescent Gunmetal Grey for a 61 OTS, the codes provided are not recognizable by my suppliers, would anyone know where to get more information or even have a car in this colour?

Peter:

Well, that is the $64K question isn't it. It all depends on what you want to do with your car. If you just want to drive it, paint it the colour you want, regardless of what Jaguar offered. If you want to show it at a JCNA Concours, then the rule states:

Paint: No deduction for type of paint. Colors must be reasonably close to production standards for year and model. Metallic colors or two-tone color schemes must adhere to factory standards. Non-production colors must be documented, by the car's JDHT certificate or an equivalent document, as having been an original color factory-applied to the Jaguar.

If you want it to what the factory offered, then you need to dig a bit deeper yet. I'd try one of the restoration houses, such as XK's Unlimited, Classic Jaguar, Coventry West, etc. to see what advice they could provide. I'm sure they have run across this problem many times.

Cheers, Mark R.

Thanks Mark but I can't get anyone to cross these numbers. How big a deal is it if the color is a shade or less off the original. I'd really like the original but have run into too many walls.
Thanks again,
Peter

Peter:

I've also got these, which may be useful. This is for ICI colour codes, but you should be able to get them transfered to others at a good paint shop, at least I used to be able to.
