I have an early XK120(built August 1950). I recently recieved info from a friend that an Early jag was going to the crusher, checked it out and found it to be a 1950 Mark V 3.5 saloon with an almost exact build date as my 120. Are there any parts on this Mark 5 that are of use to the XK120? Legend has it that the factory cut down a MK 4 chassis to make the first XK120. Does that mean that front frame section and suspension are the same? How about the rear axle assembly? The rear frame section is very different, built like a TR4/6 with the axle above the frame. The engine is a Standard 3.5 push rod engine, so that is different, but how about the gear box? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Common parts from XK120/Mark 5
Keith there are not a lot of common parts--some in smaller items but save the push rod car from the crusher--there is a following and they would be greatful--plus you might make some $$$.
Keith, what is your chassis No & where is the Mk V
