I have a 1971 series 2 ots roadster. I have been restoring the car for 29 months. I replace the complete wiring harness and need to know what color wires go on the 4 prone coil and what color wires go the resistor thank you.

There are two feeds to your coil. When the ignition is turned on the (white) feed should go in to the resistor, the outlet wire from the resistor then goes to the coil(sw); The (White/Black) goes from the coil (CB) to the dist. When the key is turned to the start position a seperate feed goes to the outlet of the resistor where the wire to the coil (cb) is, and thence directly to the coil. The idea is, under normal running conditions, the (correct) coil is fed through the resistor. For starting, in order to have a better spark the feed bypasses the resistor. Youn should be able to work out the colours from the harness you have Jaguar affectionado and etc.
