I checked my old & new clutch plate & yes, it is 1 1/2" friction surface on each. I've enclosed a photo of the new plate, purchased from Moss Motors years back & a 9 1/2" friction plate which came with the 9 1/2" pressure plate I replaced for the original 10" assy. I cannot give you the 9 1/2" pressure plate friction surface dimension since it's fitted to the engine but the original figure you gave is correct for the 10" assy.
