Any suggestions on the easiest (ha, ha) method to replace the choke cable connection at the choke control assembly behind the dash? It looks like the only way may be to remove the dash top as the glove box is in the way on one side and the dash panel is below. Help.

Remove the lower Hardura panel screws and slide panel off. Remove the glove box to ease access. Much easier than removing the dash cap.

William,

This is an easy fix but you will either need to remove the right fascia or work in a very tight and confined space. Personally, I have changed mine by backing off the nut holding the cable in place then tightening it on the new cable.

Oh, you may wish to slide the bulb assemply out of the choke indicator so you don't accidently break it during your repair.

Don't forget to install a rubber grommet at the firewall to keep it from chaffing while preventing heat and smells out of the cabin. You may also want to wrap the female solderless terminal (looks like a red wire probably positively charges from maybe fuse 5 or 6) resting on the wiring harness in the photo so as to avoid any electrical shorts or fires (like burning up your car on accident - that would be a bad day)

Cheers,
