I just aquired a 1988 XJ6 Sovereign model Jaguar. 102,00 kms and mint. It has a few minor problems to attend to and one is the left rear signal light module. When I turn on the left signal the rear won't work and I took the unit out and if you wiggle itm around it works for a few secs then quits again. I checked the wires as it seemed like a broken wire. It will now work for 5-10 secs then quit and then work a sec then quit again. The coils and points all look good in the unit and there is still full power but the coil just quits. Is there anyone that can repair or test these units? I hate to buy a new one if this one can be repaired.
Thanks, Don

Actually you can repair them quite easily. Most of the time, it is the smaller circuit board that snapps into the main one that is the problem. Check for burned resistors and diodes on that small board, and replace them, also check for cracked solder joints on the board.
I repaired mine just about 6 months ago, and it is still going strong.
