I just bought a 2005 XK8 convertable. The car has a few front end rock chips. Any ideas on where to look for a custom fitted bra ??? The car is zercon blue w/dark blue top. I think a dark blue one may look best. I have searched the internet but need to here from someone that has already bought one.

Thanks,

I have a 2000 XKR Convertible Anthracite with a Clear Bra that is a 3M material installed by previous owner. Although there are only 15,000 miles on the car and I have had it for only 2,000, I would strongly recommend the clear bra approach. It appears to be very tough, yet easily removed/replaced.

Bras on cars are a bad idea. The cars ends up with a permanent line in the paint across the edge of the thing. All that wind buffeting causes much more damage than a few easily repaired stone chips.

YMMV :)

Artie,

At one point, I was considering a "bra" for my Series III as it had just had a complete glass out respray prior to our picking her up and driving her home 1,900 km (1,200 miles). The general consensus was that road dust and wind would combine with the "bra" to inflict more damage than the occassional rock chips which can be touched up.
