Cheers all,

I was looking for some help in finding good books about my Jag that tell me the things my owner's manual, factory workshop manual, and parts list do not.

I'm looking for things like what decals were used on my car and exactly where they were placed. I'd love to see swatches for all the exterior colors offered so I can see the difference between carmen red, signal red, regency red, and opalescent maroon. What did a 64 OTS look like under the bonnet when it rolled off the assembly line? When exactly did the aluminum console and dash get replaced? Other than the obvious, what differences were there between Series 1 xke's sent to the USA vs. Europe? Stuff like that. The web is a great source of information, but it is also a great source of mis-information.

I am planning on attending the Concours in town next weekend and will take many photos of any Series 1 I can find!

The Haddock book is good, but wont' help with differences among colors. I have the same need and have never really found a way to do this. Web sites that say they have colors don't really reproduce well with monitors and I have never found a book or catalog with them in either.

You can start cheap and get Bob Stevenson's excellent guide from this site. For a huge sum you can get Haddock's book but I have been told it may go back in print. George Camp
