My apologies in advance for straying from the tech forum to general, but I'm desperately needing info & got no response from tech forum...
Body people's advice needed:
I've got a 1989 XJ-S, & need about an inch of added bonnet/hood clearance due to an engine swap.
Instead of butchering a fairly nice stock bonnet, I've got an acquaintance with a 1995, 6 cylinder, donor car.
His car has a noticible bonnet center strip height difference when compared to my 89's.
The height difference looks just right to solve my bonnet non-closing dilemma.
Also I don't want to chance damage to either body part unnecessarily by physically swapping the parts only to find they don't, easily & without mods,bolt on. Another reason is he's two + a half hours from me one way!
