Here's the situation. 2005 XJ8-L, 51,000 miles.

Doing normal checks---oil level--water and other fluid level checks, I noticed that the Hood/Bonnet sound proofing has almost turned into a limp rag.
It has completely come out of the insert holes in the hood that the cover slips into and will no longer stay in then because the cover is so limp. I believe that with the hood shut it is laying on the engine which could cause untold damage---heat (air flow restricted etc.).
Has anyone had this issue? Does Jaguar know about this (closest dealer 120 miles)? Is there a recall or, any other satisfactory steps I could take? I'm sure a replacement cost would be astronomical.

Thanks.
