Tony; I had the same problem and it took me several days to come up with a solution.
I initially I used several different penetrate type fluids. Next I used a hammer and also a slap hammer, no joy. I would work on something else hoping that it would fall out when I returned to it, nothing doing. I did try a vise grip but it didn't work, not easy to get a good grip.
I then got a good sized nut and welded it to the end of the steel bearing. Put a box end wrench on it and worked it back and forth and a little movement turned into more movement and soon it was out.
After I got the frames all apart I found holes through some of the brazed joints so I bought new frames including the bonnet support frame so I could have saved my time if only I had known. Live and learn.

Regards, Joel.
