Hi Everyone,

I have a 1996 xj6 4.0 and I failed emmissions because the "Check Engine" light was on. An extremely nice Jag machanic got the light to go away at no charge but when I went back to have the car re-inspected they said that the On-Board Diagnostic computer had not reset. That it may require
driving the vehicle in a specific way or for a specific time period.
Does anyone know how long it takes to reset and if, in fact, there is a magic "rub your head and pat your belly" way to reset the OBD?

Also, does anyone know if replacing the O2 sensor can be done by a "weekend warrior" tinkerer on the same car? I'm fairly mechanical but not very lucky when it comes to these things so I don't want to cause more problems by attempting something a bit above my abilities.

Thanks for all of your help in advance.
