74 E-type is overcharging, the voltage will go up to 17 volts then drops to battery voltage. When the fans are running it reads just over 14 volts. I tried turning down the voltage at the regulator but it does nothing. I opened up the voltage regulator and did not "see" anything burned or broken but I don't know what to test or how to do it. The fact that the screw you turn to icrease/decrease voltage has absolutly no effect leads me to believe that may be the but part but I hate guessing. Voltage reg seems very simple and I have no problem soldering a new part in it if I knew which part to replace. I don't want to put new parts on the car as I like it all original, besides they want $200+ for replacement.
