My 1968 OTS completed a bare metal restoration in May, 2014; all gaskets and seals in engine and manual transmission were replaced and the drain bolts are tight. The car still drips oil. My mechanic said they all do, because machining tolerances during the original factory build were not as good as today, and the paper gaskets tend to wick the oil when under pressure. He said this is to be expected and there is not much that can be done about it. Is this fact or fiction?
