I am new to the world of vintage Jaguar ownership and am looking to buy a late model V-12 E Type. I am not terribly mechancial and am wondering which years and models offer the most dependability. I am currently looking at a 1973 V-12 with low mileage. When buying, are there any questions I should ask the seller? Any tips or advice would be appreciated! Much appreciated.

Advice for E-type Newcomer
John, not sure where you are but would advise spending some money up front for a full inspection, from a knowledgable person. Not just an old car guy. But an E-Type person! Good luck and have fun with that NEW car Nick
All else being equal I would buy a 71 or 72, The main differbnces are the 4 outlet exhaust they have and the nice bumpers. The 73/74 cars had a 2 outlet exhaust and large, ugly -but perhaps practical- overriders. Jaguar affectionado and etc.
