thanks for the advice . . . . its so funny - the "New Hampshire method" (with a nice thick blanket across the hood to add insulation) is exactly what I did last year. And my wife made fun of me ! I'll look for the lower radiator hose heater - but if its hard to find or too expensive I'll know I have the other option.
