Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and to the E-Type. I just acquired one about a week ago.

I am looking for help in a few areas:

1. The turn signal was working when I got the car (a few days ago) and now just flashes a short flash and that's it. The Hazards do not work at all. I suspect the flasher; and so my question is - I see two flashers - one located under the steering wheel to the left and the other behind the dash/switch panel. Can someone tell me which one is which? And also - is there a cross reference to a modern flasher that I can buy at a local auto supply shop?

2. What motor oil should I use in this car?

3. The boot (trunk) lid does not stay up. Was there a prop or is there some sort of a latch that holds it open?

Thanks for your guidance!

Raj

Thank you George. I ordered the owners handbook, however, I still need to find a reference to modern fuids.
I tried to find information in the forums but without a search feature it was hard.

Anyone have advise on which modern oil to use?

Also, could it be one bulb that's out that would cause the entire turn signal and hazard system to il?

Thanks,
Raj

Raj the one in the facia is the hazzard flasher. Your description sounds more like a bulb out. As far as your boot (trunk) there are leaf springs on the hinge--sounds like some of yours are broken. The springs are very available but hard to replace. As far as oil etc--Raj you need to look at your handbook for a lot of reasons including recomended fluids-if you do not have a handbook they are here in the shoppe!
