I've started in on restoring my FHC.Milestone #1 was seeing if the engine would turn over after sittng for about 15 years...it did. After then uncovering metal rot I decided a full tear down was in store.I found a great shop to do the metal work and they also would completely rebuild the engine. They definitely seem qualified. If money were no object I would just unload it and tell them to call me when it's done. That's not the case. I'm enjoying the tear down.I have been slowly taking it down to the shell.I am gaining valuable knowledge of the cars functioning. I still have to pull engine/trans,front suspension, steering rack and IRS subframe. The price for complete engine tear down, boil out and rebuild is $10,000.The car has 68,000 miles on it.It would make sense to rebuild the engine while it's out.Having rebuilt one engine,a Pontiac 400 many years ago would I be crazy to consider undertaking a Jaguar six? If anyone has completed a rebuild I would appreciate your advice.
