Bill, I think removing the engine means removing the transmission also and therefore the reaction plate has to be removed or nothing moves. I took everything apart so I did not worry about the alignment. I set the engine on a Dollie and then raised the front of the car by the picture frame with my cherry picker the rolled the engine out. Replaced it the same way, it was quite easy. Joel.
