My '68 E-Type is a grouind-up restoration 600 mi. since completed; Drove to the Nation's Capital Concours and won D-3 9.99 pts. Driving home to Lancaster, PA, last 35 miles began to feel a significant vibration in the drive train when accelerating into 2nd and again into 3rd. I also noticed a soft squealing sound. The vibration was not in the suspension, steering or wheels. Once cruising, no vibration. Shifting and acceleration was normal, except for the vibration. I checked the manual transmission fluid and added 1/2 qt after arrival at home; didn't solve the problem.
What could be causing the vibration and squeal?
