After three decades of service, the carburetors and alternator in my 67 E-Type need refurbishing. In years past I would have done the work myself, but this time around I am thinking of sending them out for rebuilding. I want to rebuild, not exchange, the original units.
I looked in Hemmings and long-term advertisers like Joe Curto or Apple Hydraulics could do the carburetors. Does anyone have experience with these providers in terms of quality of work and reliability?. Any other suggestions?
The alternator needs new bearings. Does anyone know of a reputable place to send it?
Thanks.

67 E-Type carburetors and alternator rebuilding
Francisco, I highly recommend Rhys Kent for the carbs. No affiliation, but I'm very satisfied with the rebuild he did for me a couple of years ago. Find him at:

67 E-Type carburetors and alternator rebuilding
I've used them both and they both do good work, however, Joe is probably the preferred chioce.
If it's a stock Lucas alternator (11AC A1121) getting the needle bearings can be a problem (Torrington MJ-881). Always make sure they have a rebuild sitting on the shelf ready to go before you commit to buying one, many places may not and they will try and rebuild yours then find out the bearing is hard to get and you'll be stuck.
Here's a place to try, but call them first!

These carbs are so easy to rebuild that they hardly need an expert. Simply buy the kit, needles and diaphrams and do it yourself. If you want a true rebuild, shafts and bushes also send them to Bonnet To boot in Encino CA 818 728 0607 (ME) Jaguar affectionado and etc.
