Sorry for the screwup Curt. I didn't notice the restrictions of size & type photo allowed. The photo was Adobe & over the 200KB limit. Finally had my daughter fix it to JPEG & reduced below 200.

Curt,
Here's the copy of both light switch wiring from the Viart Wiring diagram for XK-150. The center of the page, top one is the original that I have & below it is the replacement which you may have. You can see the different numbering of the terminals. I have no idea what the "X" labeled wire is.

Hi Curt,
I think I see where the problem might be. Although both switches are LUCAS PRS-5, the newer ones are designated differently & therefore wired numerically differently. Does yours have screw-in type terminals or spade type? I'll get you copies of both later tonight. The photo I enclosed with the previous reply shows the rear of the original PRS-5 with the screw type term.
The BLUE lead goes to the dimmer sw., the RED/YEL to the fog lamps, the RED to the dash & the BROWN/BLUE from the ammeter. There's a 2nd RED wire on the same term.as the dash lgts., which powers the headlights, from fuse 2 of the FS4 fuse block. The newer sw. has different term. numbers for the same colors.
