Hello, I'm a new jag owner. 2000 S-Type. Beautiful car. Problems started immidiatelly. Car would not start. Rear tail lights not functioning. Car engine cuts off after 20-30 seconds in parking gear. Check engine light will not go off. I had battery replaced. Now car starts fine and tail lights work fine. But engine STILL cuts off after 20-30 seconds in parking gear and Check engine light ramains constant.
Anyone experienced simmilar? Any suggestions? Any assistance greately appreciated. I really like this car.

As you can see, I also have a 2000 S-Type V-8. While I didn't have the number of problems you reported, I did have one related to the shift lever and starting the car. You may have a similar situation. Every so often, the car would not start. I had to wiggle the shifter and then everything was OK. It took Jaguar a few attempts to cure it. They finally replaced the shifter and since then it has been OK. The "Engine Fail-Safe" warning would come on without any reason as well. After the shift replacement that seems to have stopped as well. I also love the car so I am glad the problem was resolved. But I had to take it to 2 different authorized Jag dealers before it was fixed.
