1988 Jaguar XJS V12 HE.
I would like to renew the Front Brake Pads on my XJS HE-- Must I put it to garage?
On an ordinary car I normally do this myself, just take them out and insert new, no bleeding necessary.
So is it basically just the same procedure with XJS or will I affect the ABS system in anyway?
again Grateful for assistance,
andrew

Other than fighting multiple pistons and trying to get them all depressed at the same time, a pad change on an XJS is no different than on a Chevy. I replaced my pads two years and 24K ago with no problems. Not a bad idea to bleed the system anyway just to have fresh fluid in there. Rather easy shadetree mechanic friendly job. Oh, and mine has ABS, as do all my other cars. Nothing special to worry about on a pad change. Tom Kipp
