I recently purchased a 99 XJR and the cruise control does not work. I purchased the car from my brother in law and he states that it worked for him. I know that the switch on the shift console needs to be activated before you attempt to set the speed control on the steering wheel switch. This doesn't work. Am I omitting something? Is there a fuse involved? I do get occasional to frequent dash advisories such as "Engine Safe Mode" and "tail light failure" warning, which twice turned out to be a license plate light, not a brake light. I would welcome any information on my Cruise control problem.
