The car was in the sub 10 degree temp yesterday and when I returned the key moved the lock to the open position but the latches did not move to the open position. When road service came he tried to jimmy the latches but they would not move. Has anyone had this experience. If so, is there a solution while the temp is still below freezing? Otherwise, could this resolve itself when the temp gets above freezing? Any input will be appreciated.

1996 XJS Frozen door latches
Seems like water, from whatever source, got into the latch and froze.
I'd be tempted to gently warm the latch area of the door with an electric hair drier on a low-ish setting.
Others will chime in.
