I am considering selling parts I purchased for an XK120 roadster restoration project that may be too ambitious & expensive for me to tackle at my age.
Here's what I know about the parts: In 1952 an XK120 roadster was purchased in northern California then was wrecked sometime around 1955, the last year the car was registered. The owner found a 1950 chassis with front & rear suspension & steel wheels, etc. and put the original 1952 engine, transmission, etc. on the chassis. Later he added a custom racing body and supposedly raced the car on local race tracks for a short time.
The car was never registered again and supposedly has been garaged in Gerber, CA since around 1955 until it was sold last year as part of an Estate sale.
Can anyone tell me what are fair prices to ask for the parts below?
1950 XK120 roadster chassis # 670640 - I recently applied and have been approved for a California Pink Slip (Clean Title) issued for chassis # 670640 that is included with the chassis. The chassis also includes brake & clutch pedals and emergency brake handle.
1950 XK120 steering column, like new steering wheel complete with horn manette and a new horn button from Tracy Imports.
Easy on/off racing steering wheel (fits XK120).
1950 XK120 front-end showing very little wear with newly rebuilt brakes
1950 XK120 rear-end showing very little wear with newly rebuilt brakes
1950 XK120 steel wheels, like-new condition (4)
1952 XK120 Engine (engine # W4757-8) estimated to have less than 20,000 original miles having been on the road between 1952 and 1955 then used on the race track for a couple more years. I also have the original Pink Slip issued in 1952 for engine # W4757-8) that is included with the engine.
1952 XK120 4-Speed Gearbox (don't have the number just yet) estimated to have less than 20,000 original miles having been on the road between 1952 and 1955 then used on the race track for a couple more years.
Original XK120 propeller shaft
Original XK120 gas tank
Again I would appreciate it if someone can tell me fair prices for the parts - I may offer them for sale to JCNA members in the "Classifieds".
If anyone is interested in purchasing the whole lot before I disassemble the running car - make your best offer.
