As an Appendix to this chapter, the following is a check list suitable for the Rallymaster and other workers in a typical Sunday rally. It has been drawn up by some of those in the Conference of Long Island Sports Car Clubs, and we extend our appreciation.

RALLYMASTER CHECK LIST

A. To be done 8 weeks before the rally

Secure firm starting location with indoor registration preferred
Secure firm lunch stop, if planned
Secure firm finish location
Have flyers printed and start distribution
Contact local newspapers
Have trophies ordered
Make first call for workers
Secure a route checker
Make first total run through course
Complete preparation of General Instructions
Make preliminary calculations
Obtain extra maps of area for checkpoint personnel

B. To be done 6 weeks before the rally

Heavy distribution of flyers
Flyer mailing
Rally course and calculations are firm have course run by "checker"
Second call for workers

C. To be done 3 weeks before the rally

Assign workers to duties
Correct any errors found on course checks
Make second contact with local newspapers
Make personal contact with all workers
Re-confirm start and finish and lunch stop
Finalize GIs and RIs for printing
Finalize calculations
Choose scoring crew

D. To be done 2 weeks before the rally

Print General and Route Instructions
Construct checkpoint packets
Arrange to obtain watches (2 per checkpoint)
Arrange for shortwave radios
Have trophies picked up
Course check by rallymaster

E. Final week

Collate and staple GIs and RIs
Check checkpoint packets for completeness
Call all workers and reconfirm
Re-confirm start, lunch and finish. Let them all know the approximate number of cars expected
Final course check (preferably the day before the rally)
Preparation of any necessary addenda to be posted at registration (Instruction changes, spelling corrections, emergency signs)

F. Day of the event

Bring to start:
    General Instructions
    Route Instructions
    Checkpoint Packets
    Registration forms
    Watches (wound or checked for fresh batteries & synchronized)
    Checkpoint signs
    Pens & pencils
    Blank signs
    Signposts
    Trophies
    Masking or Duct tape
    Cash for making change and a cash box
    Addenda signs
    Registration signs
    Adding machine or calculator
After the event:
    Secure money received
    Make financial report to organizing club
    Type out results and have duplicated
    Mail results to entrants
    Thank the workers
    Mail results to JCNA headquarters w/copy of GIs & RIs. Have all bills paid

Worker check lists:
    Sweep car
    Saw/hatchet
    First aid kit
    Winch
    Tow rope
    Local Maps
    On-time watch
    Pick up checkpoint signs
    Pick up checkpoint packet w/scoring
    Take down all course signs erected

Checkpoints:
    Two watches
    Checkpoint packet
    Map showing location of checkpoint
    Out marker
    Radio
    Set of GIs and RIs
    Extra pens and pencils
    Large marking pen
    Blank signs
